Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
The short version. We collect the minimum we need to run your Early Metals account: your basic profile from Google or X, and the things you choose to save in the app, such as your watchlist. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, we do not post on your behalf, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time.
This Privacy Policy explains how Early Metals (“Early Metals”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you visit earlymetals.com or use the Early Metals web application (together, the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we receive your name, email address, username and profile picture, either from you directly or from the sign-in provider you choose (see section 2).
Content and activity you create
- Your watchlist, virtual portfolio holdings and saved research state.
- Your email preferences, such as whether you receive the weekly digest.
- Content you choose to publish, such as reviews, comments and statements on company pages. This content and your public profile (display name, username and profile picture) are visible to other users.
Technical information
Like most websites, our servers and providers process basic technical data such as IP address, browser type and request logs, used to keep the Service secure and running. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
2. Signing in with Google or X
You can sign in with your Google account or your X (Twitter) account. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, Clerk.
| Provider | What we receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
Name, email address, profile picture and a unique account ID (the openid, email and profile scopes). | To create and identify your account and send account-related email. | |
| X | Name, username, profile picture and a unique account ID; email address only if X provides it. | To create and identify your account and show your public profile. |
We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts or calendar. We do not read your X direct messages, follow accounts, or post on your behalf. You can revoke Early Metals’ access at any time from your Google account permissions or your X connected apps settings.
Google API Services. Early Metals’ use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google user data only to provide sign-in and account features, never for advertising, and we do not sell it or use it to train AI models.
3. How we use information
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To provide the features you use, such as your watchlist, portfolio and company pages.
- To send service emails, such as security notices and, if enabled, the weekly digest. You can unsubscribe from the digest at any time.
- To prevent abuse, debug problems and keep the Service reliable.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Our research content (verdicts, sentiment scores, summaries) is generated from public market data, news, public social media posts and videos. Your personal account data is not used to generate that content and is not used to train AI models.
4. How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- Clerk — authentication and account management.
- Resend — delivery of transactional and digest emails.
- Cloudflare — DNS, content delivery and security for our websites.
- Hosting providers — servers and databases that store application data.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case we will notify you.
5. Cookies
We use only essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and protect your session (set by our authentication provider). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. This public website does not set cookies of its own.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account at any time by emailing hello@earlymetals.com from the address on your account. We delete your account and associated personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records to meet legal obligations. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@earlymetals.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you of a breach where the law requires.
9. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email or in the app.
